See us in the Trade Tent! This will be our first visit to STIA as a trader. I intend to gather together as many different Wilesco and MSS models as I can lay my hands on. So often people ask me 'where can I have a look at these engines before I buy' and, as far as I am aware there isn't a model shop which keeps enough stock for people to see. Well I would like to put that right. I will not be bringing much in the way of Mamod engines as there always seems to be a lot of retailers with those, maybe just a few of the products that are exclusive to Manor Models. For anyone who does not know what STIA 2011 is all about. It takes place on 6th February 2011 between 1:00pm and 5:00pm as Abbey Pumping Station Museum, Leicester. The majority of the exhibition is dedicated to collectors and enthusiasts who wish to display their toy steam collection with a comparatively small trade tent for the likes of us. If you live close enough to travel it's a not-to-be-missed event. Please come and say hello, I love to chat to fellow enthusiasts, which anyone who phones me will testify to. |

Mamod Hand Rail.: I am slowly adding to the range of enhancement products available on Manor Models and the brass hand rail is the latest. You would need to drill 2 small holes to bolt the handle through. I put mine on the side of the scuttle but it could fit in several different places. Maybe across the back of the scuttle. This has also been added to the Mamod Railway website as well as it can be used to replace the loco grab handles. Barrels: These are quite nice as an alternative load for the Mamod steam wagon or trailer. They come unpainted but with very little effort would make quite a realistic load. Bases and Fireboxes : I have added two different Mamod flat bases. One which is MM2 size and another suitable for the older style SE1 (Not added to the site just yet). The associated firebox for these two engines has also been added. The paint is powder coat, very durable and won't burn off in a hurry like it would from those aerosol cans. There is also a flat base lineshaft using the MM2 base but with my own design pillars. Price at the moment is £19.99 but that might have to go up because there's a lot of work in them. Photos of each below. ![]() |

Yet another delay to the new Wilesco steam lorry. With apologies, once again, to all those people who have reserved one from the first batch. Latest information I have is March 2011 but of course deadlines seem to mean nothing to Wilesco. Arghhhh! Everyone must be sick of this picture by now, but well, here it is again... I have to say the Wilesco D10/60 (60th anniversay model) has proved a real success. You couldn't actually use the term 'flying off the shelves' but lets just say there must have been quite a lot of happy steamers on Christmas morning. New stocks are awaited so I may or may not be able to show one at the STIA show. http://www.wilesco-uk.co.uk/wilesco-New_Models_2010.asp?part_id=100512 |
